We exist to help people become deeply informed about the issues that affect their lives, better prepared to make decisions and more engaged in our community.

As public media, our community relies on us to gather and investigate the facts and prioritize the significant issues affecting our region. We do this work free from external commercial, political, or financial influences. We delve deeply into critical issues, always striving to place topics in their historical and factual context. Through our stories, our staff, and our sources, we aim to represent a broad range of people and ideas. We allow context and humanity to enrich the news we share.

Our work provides greater understanding in a world that is divided and increasingly complex. We create a unique and trusted space where the people of our region connect with each other, learn about each other, and come to understand each other, our nation and our world.

This year, STLPR is raising funds for our Teen Photojournalist Prize. For more information about the program, please click our Featured Campaign.
