At Project Animal Freedom, we are working to build a fully vegan Midwest by 2056 through a strategic, chapter-based system. We strive to build thriving animal rights communities in every major metro area across the Midwest, focusing on medium-to-large cities that lack a local animal rights organization. Currently, we have five active chapters, three in Missouri, two in Illinois. 4 out of 5 of these communities lacked a local animal rights organization prior to our efforts.
Project Animal Freedom is well known for our events, social media outreach, and growing international impact. In 2024, we reached 11.2 million people through Facebook alone, and our Vegan Climate Summit reached a record-breaking 411,000 people. We also hosted our inaugural Disabled Vegan Expo, in addition to our Gay Vegan Expo, Veganic Gardening 101 class, and other online member meetings. These events reach millions of people around the world, generating a far-reaching impact.
Our St. Louis chapter, in particular, is beloved for its frequent, creative community-building events. We host dozens of events in St. Louis each year, including Vegmas, Vegster, VegRock, and our Vegan Halloween Party. We organize everything from vegan tea parties to protests, marches, and demonstrations. But our largest event is STL Vegan Market, your one-stop shop for all things plant-based, cruelty-free, and sustainable. This event has reached over 160,000 St. Louisans and generated over 570,000 views so far this year, showcasing incredible reach and impact.
