Thank you for considering a gift to Great Rivers Environmental Law Center!

The Law Center provides free and low-cost legal services to individuals and groups working to protect the environment and public health. These groups include native gardeners, urban farmers, the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Sierra Club, NRDC, Missouri Confluence Waterkeepers, the local NAACP, and more.

We work to:

- Protect public health by encouraging cleaner energy and efficient energy use;
- Preserve open spaces, forests, floodplains, and wetlands;
- Protect disadvantaged populations from an unreasonable share of the environmental burdens of modern society;
- Aid and advise citizens and organizations in asserting and defending their interests in environmental values before administrative officials, and, as a last resort, before the courts.

We work to address air and water quality issues that impact the health of the people of Missouri and Southern Illinois, and to reduce our region's contribution to climate change, which impacts the health and future of ALL people.

Mission

Great Rivers is a nonprofit organization working through the courts and administrative agencies to safeguard human and environmental health across Missouri and in Southern Illinois.

Environmental laws themselves do not protect the environment; they require fair and consistent enforcement - which unfortunately is often lacking in our Region. Great Rivers works to ensure environmental laws are enforced and that polluters are held accountable.
