MEET US IN STRAUSS PARK!
Named the best “Pocket Park” by The Riverfront Times in 2013, Strauss Park is situated in the heart of the Grand Center Arts District, alongside notable institutions such as The Fox Theatre, Jazz St. Louis, the Kranzberg Arts Foundation, The Grandel Theatre, and much more. At its core, it serves as a place for local gathering, relaxation, recreation, and socialization.
Named for Leon Strauss, a prominent St. Louis businessman and philanthropist, Strauss Park represents a “brief respite in the burgeoning artistic spaces of midtown [St. Louis]” with easy access to quiet sitting areas, games of chess, walking paths, green spaces, and a myriad of public art installations. Together with his wife, Mary, Leon Strauss’ vision for a restored city with a grand center ultimately changed the urban landscape of St. Louis.
Since 1985, Grand Center, Inc. has been the happy steward of Strauss Park, maintaining its day-to-day energy and vibrancy through efforts that ensure its continued clean, safe and beautiful atmosphere. At its heart, Grand Center, Inc. is the convener of the District’s businesses, residents, visitors and local arts organizations. And Strauss Park is the idyllic space where new ideas are born and creativity abounds.
We invite you to be fellow stewards of this dynamic, outdoor space. Your contribution on Give STL Day only enhances Grand Center, Inc.’s ability to make and keep Strauss Park a safe and beautiful place to congregate and create.
