$4,000 Goal

Our goal this year for Give STL Day is to raise $4,000. We hope each HHMD social media friend donates $1 to help push us beyond our expectations.

HHMD helps families break the cycle of poverty and works with them to find stability and independence. We have served over 35,000 children and their families since our founding in 2011. The vast majority of families we serve are led by single parents experiencing unemployment, underemployment and/or unsafe housing issues. We serve families in the entire Greater St. Louis area.

We work to empower families in need to achieve stability in their lives. When a family is referred to us by our network of over 120 agencies, hospitals, and shelters, we first ensure each family has the clothing and other essential items necessary to parent effectively. We then assist families in finding stable employment and safe housing, while connecting emotionally through one-on-one life coaching.

HHMD's Top Referral Agencies in 2019 (based on number of clients the agency referred to HHMD): 1) Parents as Teachers National Center 2) Beyond Housing 3) ST. Louis County Nurses 4) Family Forward 5) First Steps 6) Normandy School District 7) Urban League 8) Lutheran Family and Child Services

We also connect families to other agencies that can meet their food, shelter and other emergency needs. Our services allow social workers and nurses on the front lines to meet a need previously unmet for their clients. HHMD is viewed as the "glue" working alongside other agencies, and bringing in others if needed, to best serve families.

Mission

HHMD enhances the quality of life for children and families in the St. Louis area by meeting their immediate needs, then connecting them with life-changing resources that foster independence.
