Halo for Animals

A nonprofit organization

$858 raised by 19 donors

Halo for animals assists the City of Sullivan and the Sullivan Police Department with the pets in their animal control facility (pound). Halo helps the city find placement for the pets not claimed by their families, helps cover medical needs not paid for by the city and promotes pet spay and neuter.
Through generous donations from the community and support of local businesses, the organization is able to provide adopters with a certificate to cover part of the required spay/neuter of the newly adopted pet or pay for the surgery before adoption. Donations have also been used to make improvements to the city facility and to purchase items that will make the pets more comfortable while waiting to be claimed by their families or adopted to a new family. None of this would be possible without the support of local animal lovers.
Volunteers provide the network of support needed to make sure that potential adopters are aware of the pets needing homes in the local pound. Halo volunteers are able to take the pets to adoption events as well as handle adoption paperwork outside of animal control's hours. The great partnership with the City of Sullivan is what allows Halo to make a difference in the lives of the cats and dogs that find themselves in the pound.
