Little is more heartbreaking than a child being removed from their home due to neglect, abuse, trauma, or abandonment. These early life experiences deeply influence the youth who come to Marygrove. Thankfully, most of us will never know what it’s like not to have a happy home, to fight for kindness, to search for food, to be safe for another day. But for our kids, their stories are different, more challenging, often more painful…and we are thankful we can be their safe haven in the midst of family chaos.

For 175 years, Marygrove, a ministry of Catholic Charities, has been a beacon of hope, healing, and opportunity. Through compassionate care, innovative programs, and unwavering support, we help children, adolescents, and young adults overcome trauma and build brighter futures. As one of the only organizations in the St. Louis area to provide a comprehensive continuum of residential and community-based programs, including therapeutic residential treatment and foster care, transitional and independent living, and educational services, Marygrove has helped transform the lives of over 75,000 youth!

Each child who comes to Marygrove brings their own story, their own pain, and their own potential. Our mission is to help them not just overcome their past but build the future they deserve—one filled with possibility, stability, and love. The work we do here is not just important; it is life-changing. We are giving these young people the tools to break the cycles of trauma and despair and step into a brighter tomorrow. We are everything to our kids while they are with us – home, parent, chef, teacher, friend. We enjoy outings, celebrate holidays, and birthday parties – all joyful experiences every child should have.  And with your support, we can continue to expand our impact and reach even more children in need. 

We are so grateful to be a part of such a compassionate and generous community and participate in the annual Give STL Day on May 8, 2025. For 24 hours, our Board members and generous matching gift benefactors will challenge donors and the greater St. Louis community to put their best gifts forward in support of the kids who call Marygrove their home.
