Opera Theatre has a long tradition of discovering the finest young singers, creating flagship programs that open doors to the next generation, and promoting the work of living American librettists and composers. When you give, you help us continue our mission.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL) is known for its local impact, national presence, and global resonance.
Every year, we produce a spring festival season of inventive new productions. Every production is sung in English and accompanied by the Grammy Award-winning St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Performances take place in the intimate Loretto-Hilton Center at Webster University. Before and after the shows, audiences gather in lush gardens for picnics and cocktails.
As of the 2024 Festival Season, Opera Theatre has presented 44 world premieres. Over the past 35 years, The Bayer Fund Artists-in-Training Program has brought college-level vocal training to more than 290 high school students. Our Emerson Behind the Curtain program offers significant hands-on training, practical knowledge, and professional development for emerging backstage talent each season. The Gerdine Young Artist Program provides emerging artists invaluable performance experience as they begin their professional careers.
