Transparent

A nonprofit organization

TransParent was founded in St. Louis by two local moms who were isolated & alone as they began raising their gender independent kids. Founded in 2011, TransParent has grown from a mere 4 families in St. Louis, to a national organization in fourteen states, but we still call St. Louis home.

What do we do for our families at the local level?
TransParent hosts monthly Parent Group Meetings in St. Louis, St. Charles and the Metro East for those parent/caregivers who are raising gender expansive children. Additionally, we have partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital to host a monthly Gender Independent Kids Club that meets simultaneously to the St. Louis Parent Group Meeting - a feature that the kids LOVE. Through our website, we provide Trans friendly resources, like schools, churches, medical & mental health providers, summer camps, attorneys, etc. so that parents don't need to figure it all out on their own.

Why donate to us?
We are a 100% volunteer organization which means that 100% of what we raise goes to fund our outreach. Your donations provide critical support for our parents and families, so they can focus on their new journey of raising a transgender or gender-independent child.

Mission

TransParent envisions a world that honors and affirms the naturally occurring transgender experience. Our mission is to bring compassionate support to parents and caregivers navigating complex issues faced by gender-expansive individuals.
