$1,000 Goal

City Sewing Room is a non-profit community space where we stitch, teach, and share. Since 2016, we’ve been a vibrant hub for sewing enthusiasts, fostering creativity and connection. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit since 2020, we teach more than 75 children and adults weekly, engage more than a dozen volunteers each day, and offer affordable fabrics in our Makers’ Mart.

We process roughly 1,500 pounds of fabric and sewing materials each week, much of which would otherwise end up in landfills. We then resell most of the fabric and items to the community in our Makers' Mart for only $2 a pound!

Our children's programs are spreading the love for fiber arts to a new generation, and we are proud to support the fantastic maker community in St. Louis!

We depend on the generosity of people like you! As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your donation may be tax deductible. Thank you for donating and helping us stitch, teach, and share!

Mission

City Sewing Room stitches, teaches and shares needle-based fiber arts and practical sewing skills. We're a resource to all skill levels, ages 9 and up! We do this by offering studio time, collaborating in group classes, peer-to-peer learning, and one-on-one lessons. We grow people's confidence and abilities by sharing our passion, expertise and resources. Our Maker's Mart of donated items enables sewists to share their extra sewing supplies with others and buy low cost materials for their work.
