Habitat for Neighborhood Business (HNB) provides the following programs:
1) Mentor Forum - HNB entrepreneurs work in groups of 10 with an experienced business mentor to discuss business issues. . The first Mentor Forum is a study of the Business Model Canvas that each entrepreneur in the class completes for their business. HNB mentors commit to working, one on one, or in teams, with the entrepreneurs for a minimum of two years.
2) Mentor - Based on requests, HNB entrepreneurs are paired with an experienced business mentors. HNB mentors commit to working, one on one, or in teams, with the entrepreneurs for a minimum of two years.
3) Other HNB Services: - All entrepreneurs receive a financial, legal, and business plan review of their business. They also receive pro bono web page development, QuickBooks software, reduced prices on computer equipment and training.
4) HNB Training at SLU - Training is provided on topics related for entrepreneurs by volunteer business professionals through SLU classroom sessions, currently by Zoom and individually by subject matter experts as needed.
5) SLU Undergraduate Service Leadership student projects - SLU undergraduate Business students provide business improvement suggestions to the entrepreneurs, along with HNB grants to implement their recommendations.
6) SLU Chaifetz School of Business Capstone Project: SLU graduate Business student teams, with guidance from a Business professor, perform an intense one-semester "business plan" for selected HNB entrepreneurs who are eligible for a grant to implement the recommendations.
7) HNB 50/50 Matching Grant Program - HNB entrepreneurs may apply for a matching grant every other year for business needs.
8) Enterprise Bank sponsored Fair Lending Program - HNB entrepreneurs are eligible for a favorable rate loan program in collaboration with Enterprise Bank.
