North Side Community School

We are very grateful for the generous support from our community throughout this unpredictable and challenging time. The pandemic has disrupted learning and most students have experienced tremendous learning loss. We have hired additional teacher aides to foster small-group interventions, increased time spent on literacy and math to ensure students can catch up and invested in new textbooks and workbooks to meet our students needs.

We believe every child has the capacity to excel and deserves the opportunity for an excellent education. Our mission is to provide that opportunity to children in the City of St. Louis, primarily the Goodfellow-Wells, Greater Ville, Hamilton Heights, Kingsway, Penrose, and Walnut Park neighborhoods. By providing free, open-enrollment pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade education in a safe environment of high expectations, we are seeing our children thrive.

North Side Community School has consistently ranked among the highest performing public schools - charter or district - in the city. We are a strong proof statement for Missouri that an open-enrollment school serving this deeply disadvantaged population can deliver student performance above the state-wide average for all public schools.
