Sherwood Forest programs are anchored in a 28-day residential camp experience and supported by year-round engagement, which helps to ensure our campers return to year after year. During the summer, kids choose from a range of traditional camp experiences like swimming, backpacking, and canoeing, as well as academic enrichment programs like Creative & Performing Arts, Library and Reading, and STEM exploration activities to help reduce summer learning loss. Using research-based methods and the unique opportunities offered by nature, Sherwood Forest helps kids from low-income families build a foundation needed to break the cycle multi-generational poverty. Our programs are strategically designed to build the soft skills, academic ability, personal traits, and life strategies enabling them to overcome obstacles and grow into resilient, successful adults.
