BRING LIGHT.  FIND BELONGING.

Between social media and the playground, our kids face battles unlike those we did, even a decade ago.  Intolerance and cruelty go unchecked in too many environments, and so many of the  guard rails set up for a child’s healthy growth have brittled with apathy.

At Dreamflight®, kids of all ages are shown kindness, earn respect, and learn acceptance, while strengthening the heart, body, and mind.  We are “Where Athleticism Meets The Arts”, and we believe every child has the right to dream, and the potential to fly.

Dreamflight's® Goals:

First, to bring under one roof Gymnastics, Acting, Dance and Writing for both children and adults.  Dreamflight® is "Where Athleticism Meets the Arts."

Second, to change the culture of gymnastics training in the St. Louis area by offering an alternative to “old school” practices.  Dreamflight® respects the individual, while offering affordable, inclusive, quality instruction.

For many, the gymnastics experience means barked orders and harsh criticism - winning is everything to them. Dreamflight® follows a different philosophy – the gymnasts, the joy of the sport, and the lessons learned thereof, come first.

“The moment you yell at a kid, the kid’s no longer listening,” says Head Coach and Co-Founder Matthew Morrese. The coaches at Dreamflight® communicate with respect, and don't treat the gymnast like a robot needing to be programmed and perfected. A gymnast’s pride in her performance is far more important than a trophy. "Though winning is great," he says, "the most influential competition she will ever have is the one she has within herself."

Within that self is an individual – her likes, her dislikes, her motivations, her fears.  Our gym supports her life and interests outside of gymnastics, recognizing the whole person, not just the athlete.  This philosophy works – see our reviews, our socials, and the Head Coach’s experience in utilizing this method in Los Angeles before returning to St. Louis.

Why Did We Make Dreamflight a Nonprofit?

As a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Academy, the most important thing to us is the kids, not the bottom line.  We believe no one should  have to tell their child, “Sorry, you can’t do gymnastics, because we can’t afford it.”  At Dreamflight®, class rates for Recreation and Team are affordable, and we work with parents who need to make unique payment arrangements.  Not to mention, line items on Team like Music Mixing, Choreography, and “Coaches Fees” for Meets are nonexistent at Dreamflight®.

Not just a Gym - it's an Academy.

The contrast doesn’t end at the philosophy or the prices. Dreamflight’s® Academy is just that – an Academy, with classes and camps for those interested in Acting, Writing, and Dance.  Twice a year, Dreamflight® produces Theatrical Recitals uniting all Divisions into one unique "Theatrical Gymnastics" Performance, in which all students get to shine!

This pioneering program exists nowhere else. Dreamflight® is the first, and only, Theatrical Gymnastics Academy.  It’s an enormous undertaking and we have persevered through unexpected hardships, while always putting the kids first.

We hope you'll support our cause to value kids' individuality and teach them how to fly.  Thank you for considering us for your GiveSTL Day contributions.
