For 127 years, Wyman has believed in the power of teens. We envision a day when ALL young people thrive.

What We Do
Wyman's mission is to connect teens to their voices, their strengths, and their futures through proven programs and supports. We are a nonprofit organization driving impact for teens in St. Louis and across the country. Our direct service programs serve more than 1,100 young people each year. We extend our reach through partnerships locally and across the country to serve more than 2,500 young people in the St. Louis area, and more than 25,000 young people across the country.

We create, deliver, and distribute proven programs that help young people build life and leadership skills, establish healthy behaviors and relationships, and achieve educational and career success. These programs include opportunities for community service; social, emotional, academic, and leadership skill building; postsecondary access and support; and team building, adventure challenges, and building relationships at camp.

We partner with organizations and schools in over 30 states, training and guiding partners to deliver our programs to teens in their communities. We fiercely advocate with youth for equity, fair policies, and humane practices across systems that impact the education, well-being, and opportunities for young people.

Make a gift of $78 to support Wyman's Teen Connection Project® (TCP®)

This year, in honor of Youth Mental Health Month (May), we are asking you to make a gift of $78 to support Wyman’s Teen Connection Project.

Alerts around teen mental health challenges, the crisis of connections, and continued educational inequities abound. Teens are experiencing higher levels of anxiety and depression than ever before and are lonelier than any other age group in America.

But you have an opportunity to make a difference by investing in TCP. By making a gift of $78, you will provide one session of TCP to one teen.

TCP is a nationally-recognized, evidence-based program that builds strong connections among high school aged youth. It is a 12-14 week program with lessons focused on communication, trust, vulnerability, giving and getting support, and exploring personal strengths Teens learn to interact, share, and create and maintain social connections with each other and their communities.

One of the curriculum lessons in TCP is #YouMatter. It is a lesson in giving and accepting gratitude - and how this can strengthen our connections with one another. After this lesson, teens are amazed at the impact they've had on another person and, more importantly, they deepen an important, supportive relationship.

Our recent two-time Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, prioritized conversations around mental health and connections and his parting action was a prescription for America: the "triad of fulfillment" - relationships, service, and a sense of purpose - which lie at the heart of our health and happiness AND at the heart of the work we do at Wyman.

We want ALL teens to know that THEY matter - and by supporting Wyman this Give STL Day in honor of Youth Mental Health Month, you are being a champion for teens at this critical time and letting them know they matter.
