When is Give STL Day?
Give STL Day will take place midnight–midnight, May 8, 2025. The website will continue to accept donations until 10 a.m. on May 9, 2025.
What is Give STL Day?
Give STL Day is an online giving event organized by the St. Louis Community Foundation to grow philanthropy and support nonprofits in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan region. Donors 'shop' nonprofits online to make donations to the causes that are important to them. There are hundreds of online giving events that take place across the country each year. Give STL Day has raised more than $30 million for upwards of 1,100 nonprofits since its inception in 2014.

When is early giving?
Early giving is two weeks long and will take place midnight April 23—11:59:59 p.m. May 7. Early giving provides you with more time to learn about nonprofits and make your donations.
Is my gift tax-deductible? Will you send me a receipt?
Yes! 100% of your donation qualifies as a charitable gift. You will immediately receive an email from the St. Louis Community Foundation confirming the deduction. Please save this email for your records.
How do I access a past donation receipt?
If you need a copy of a past donation receipt, log in to your donor account and follow these instructions. If you checked out as a guest, email support@mightycause.com for assistance.
What payment methods are accepted?
The Give STL Day website accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. St. Louis Community Foundation donor advised fund holders can also make grant recommendations using their funds.
How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?
Your entire donation, minus platform (2.7%) and credit card fees, goes to the organization. You will have the option to cover fees at checkout by increasing your gift by 5%. In 2024, 95% of Give STL Day donors choose to cover fees!
What are the minimum and maximum donation amounts?
The minimum is $10. The maximum is $100,000. If you wish to donate more than $100,000, please contact the St. Louis Community Foundation at (314) 588-8200 or info@stlgives.org.
When will the nonprofit receive my donation?
Nonprofit grant checks will be mailed by the end of June.
Will the nonprofits I support receive my information?
You choose how much information you want to share when making a donation.
- Hide amount/name from public: choose the information about your donation that you want to display publicly. Your name and contact information, including billing address, is shared with the St. Louis Community Foundation and the nonprofit you are donating to. You may receive follow-up communications from either or both organizations.
- Donate anonymously: the nonprofit you are donating to will not receive any information about you. The Foundation will receive your name and contact information only to be able to send you a tax receipt. You can choose if you want the amount of your donation to display publicly. You will not receive follow-up communications from either organization.
How will my gift be recognized?
It's up to you. You can choose to be recognized publicly for your donation using a name of your choosing or request no public recognition. You can also make your gift anonymously or in memory/honor of someone else.
Is my gift safe and secure?
Mightycause is PCI compliant and encrypted using SSL certificates. Your payment information is never saved on Mightycause or the St. Louis Community Foundation’s servers.
How do I become a matching donor?
Many nonprofits benefit from the generosity of matching donors on Give STL Day. If you are interested in becoming a matching donor for a specific cause, please reach out to that nonprofit directly. If you aren't sure which organization you would like to support, our team would be happy to assist. Please contact the St. Louis Community Foundation at (314) 588-8200 or info@stlgives.org.
Who is Mightycause?
Mightycause is the technology provider that creates the online infrastructure and giving portal for Give STL Day. Mightycause has over a decade of giving event experience with dozens of partners across the nation.
