STEMSTL is a collaborative consortium committed to equitable access to high-quality STEM learning and employment opportunities for all learners in the St. Louis Metro region. We organize five workgroups comprising experts from across St. Louis' STEM-learning and STEM-workforce ecosystem. These workgroups co-create and deploy initiatives to strengthen the ecosystem of STEM-learning practitioners, centralize communications about STEM-learning opportunities, support quality and rigor in STEM instruction, identify and fill gaps in STEM learning, and connect K-12 learning to high-growth STEM industries. We convene a Community of Practice for afterschool and summer STEM programs. We host monthly roundtables to share information STEM-learning and STEM-workforce topics. We run an online, filterable portal for educators (https://stemstl.org/erp/) that aggregates professional development, instructional resources, and field opportunities. We are the organizer of STEM Celebration Week, which brings together programs from across the region to celebrate the fantastic STEM learning opportunities available to families.
We are the new home of the Regional Youth Employment Coalition that seeks to foster economic empowerment through a racial equity lens by increasing youth employability, growing diverse talent pipelines, and impacting system change as a synergistic, passion driven collaborative.
Our mission is to collectively develop and deploy quality systems-level changes that will advance STEM learning and career opportunities to empower the growth of diverse problem solvers, innovators, and critical thinkers, enabling them to thrive in a globally connected world.
