In 2021 the St. Louis Community College (STLCC) Foundation established the STLCC Student Emergency Fund, in partnership with the STLCC offers the Student Advocacy & Resource Center (SARC) to provide an added level of support for students in crisis. Through this fund eligible students can receive an emergency grant, to help with unexpected expenses due to unforeseen circumstances. This can include assistance with childcare, rent and utilities assistance, or food assistance or similar emergencies.
Through the generosity of the community, we are able to continue to offer this assistance annually.
STLCC offers the Student Advocacy & Resource Center (SARC) to help students through many situations that may make it harder for them to finish their degree. The STLCC-SARC office supports students’ academic and personal success by assisting students in meeting their basic needs and navigating barriers that may interfere with achieving their educational goals. They utilize a strengths-based and solutions-oriented approach to address crises, resolve concerns, develop capacity, and promote health and well-being for individuals, the College, and our communities.
