Make a gift today to support the St. Louis Public Radio Teen Photojournalist Prize. This special competition provides professional recognition, publicity, encouragement, educational hands-on training, and resources to St. Louis, Quincy (IL), and Rolla (MO)-area high school students who demonstrate a talent for documenting their world through photography. It also showcases STLPR as a source for high-quality, award-winning photojournalism.
By working with schools and youth organizations throughout our listening area to encourage participation in the contest, STLPR provides opportunities for students who might not otherwise be able to gain recognition for their talent and hard work in this field — all while reinforcing media literacy and other educational journalism concepts.
Teens submit photos in the following categories: General News, Feature, Sports Action, Sports Feature, Portrait, Landscape, and Animals and Wildlife.
All finalist photos are included in an annual framed gallery exhibition and display in the Public Media Commons at St. Louis Public Radio and cash prizes are awarded for the Best in Show winner and First Place in each of the seven categories. Honorees also have the opportunity to participate in a photography master class with STLPR photojournalist Brian Munoz, and have their images published on the STLPR website and social media.
Your gift during Give STL Day will inspire the next generation of journalists and photojournalists, so, please give now and give generously!
