Recliners For Her

Valeda's Hope provides recliners to women that have been diagnosed with breast cancer that will undergo a double masectomy. A woman is discharged from the hospital within 24 hours after she has had surgery. She leaves with two to three drains attached to her breast area. This is very uncomfortable for her as she begins to heal, The recliners assist with healing and resting.  I personally slept in a recliner for two years after each surgery related to breast cancer. A recliner assisted me with healing. Valeda's Hope would like to make sure women have a recliner after her surgery. This is a major surgery! We also make sure the women have pj's, slippers, blankets and pillows to go along with their recliner. Black women are dying at an alarming rate in Saint Louis, Missouri due to breast cancer.
