I am so grateful and excited to be able to participate again in the Shelter Slumber Pawty.  This year I will be representing Helping Strays of Monroe County where I have been fortunate to have been serving as their shelter manager.  This is such a great cause and a fun way to participate with my rescue peers in a healthy fundraising competition to aid in the care of  so many homeless pets in our communities.  Please consider donating to my cause.  We help so many pets in need.

  My profile picture is an image of Raisin which we rescued from an Amish puppy mill.  Raisin was set to be euthanized because she had a grade 4 heart murmur.  We of course could not let that happen, so setting the cost aside, we took her in and quickly had her seen by the amazing cardiology team at University of Illinois.  They diagnosed her with a PDA heart murmur which luckily for her is apparently the best to get because it is the most repairable.  The cardiologist did inform us that if surgery was not peformed, her prognosis was only 2 years and at just 10 weeks old, she already had heart enlargement which means the affect of the murmur was already taking its toll on her heart.  Time was of the  essence so Sweet Raisin was scheduled immediately for heart surgery and It was successful! She is recovering and doing fantastic and has the prognosis of a long, wonderful life.  THIS is what your donation supports.  It supports pets like Raisin that went from having no chance at all, to living the beautiful life she deserves.  Please consider donating to my fundraiser.  Thank you so much for all of your support!!!  I appreciate you all.
