Sustaining the Mission

As new parents, GSS met our requirements perfectly. The staff was both professional and caring, its location was convenient for us, it fit within our budget, and we truly appreciated its mission. When our oldest, Max-a-roni, was almost 3 years old, the staff brought to our attention some concerns regarding our child's development, which led to an initial diagnosis of a learning delay. Their keen observations and genuine care were instrumental in helping us navigate this unexpected path that eventually led to a confirmed diagnosis of autism. 

GSS's dedication to meeting our child's unique needs didn't stop with the diagnosis. The team went above and beyond to help us understand our insurance coverage and the various services available for our child. The integration of support services within the same building as the daycare proved invaluable, simplifying our journey as we transitioned into the often-complex world of therapy.

We couldn't have asked for a more empathetic and attentive environment for our children's care. We are incredibly grateful for the support and services we were provided. Even after our children moved on from GSS, our connection to the mission remained strong.  So, when the opportunity arose to become a member of the board of directors, accepting was an immediate "yes" as GSS holds a special place in our hearts.

Good Shepherd continues to provide specialized, value-added services and supports for kids like my Max-a-roni, even though the cost of doing so is significantly higher than what insurance reimburses, and despite the fact that there is no reimbursement for many children awaiting a diagnosis, or who fall just short of qualifying. 

Good Shepherd provides these services but relies upon generosity from supporters like you and ne to be able to do so. With your help, we can continue to provide these transformative supports without passing exorbitant extra costs on to families.
