In 2024, Black Girls Do STEM partnered with Friends of the Rainforest whose mission is to inspire kids and adults to take action to protect, expand, and save the Rainforest. Black Girls Do STEM was able to take students to Costa Rica to explore the rainforest. Students was able to learn valuable skills and practical applications that will help shape their thought processes to think creatively, altruistically and scientifically while in the rainforest as junior ecologists.
We are seeking to provide the opportunity to continue this cause by taking students in 2026. GiveSTL fundraising efforts will help us accomplish this goal and enable us to take more children to explore and learn in the Rainforests of Costa Rica. The total trip cost $30,000 and we need you to help us hit our first fundraising goal this GiveSTL Day of $10,000!
